the figure is nothing in particular, nothing but a metaphor. american mcgee's alice is a game that is close to my heart, because of what alice endured in terms of rutledge asylum, her trauma, and bumby. so much happened to her that wasn't mentioned off screen and hinted. it's been a very bad year for me, struggling with my trauma and past, that "madness returns" hit close to me.

to me, alice isn't insane, she's just very traumatized and that there is still such a huge stigma against mental health and mood disorders, even today.

we do what we can to escape painful and traumatizing memories, especially when we struggle on a day to day basis. this game reminded me of that and i would play it when i was struggling leaving my apartment thanks to ptsd. we endure.
